I just found my magazine articles on the google books pages. How do I go about signing into the class action suit? Is it too late?
I am an objector to the freelancers' settlement with publishers and electronic database companies (the case now called Reed Elsevier v. Muchnick at the Supreme Court). I am commenting on, but not directly involved in, the Google Books settlement, which is a different case though it has some related issues. Unless you affirmatively opted out, you are a member of the Google Books class. But the parties' revised version of the proposed settlement, which is due to be delivered to the district court in the next couple of days, will probably be proposing new opt-out/objection deadlines.
